Elder

Jim Boggio

Our Elder Jim owned a business here in Helena for many years, and he has faithfully served GMCC in a variety of capacities. However, it's not about simply serving in a local church. Jim says:

Someone once said, “If life is an accident, it cannot conceivably have any purpose, for they both cannot be true." In 1982, my wife and family joined Green Meadow Church. I served most of the time as an elder. In that time, I have experienced and witnessed how fragile life is. Times of affliction are designed to make us better, not bitter, for they help us to answer the question, “What is your only comfort in life and in death?” Jesus gave us hope when he said, “In the world you will have tribulation; but be of good cheer, I have overcome the world," (John 16:33). Once more in John 14:1-3 he promises, “Let not your heart be troubled; you believe in God, believe also in Me. In My Father’s house are many mansions; if it were not so, I would have told you. I go to prepare a place for you. And if I go and prepare a place for you, I will come again and receive you to Myself; that where I am, there you may be also.” This is why my life and my future rests in the faithfulness of God my Savior. This is the goal and the purpose of the Gospel, to believe that Jesus is the Christ, the Son of God, and that by believing you may have life in His name. This is my only comfort in life for I am convinced that neither death nor life, will be able to separate me from the love of God that is in Christ Jesus my Lord. He is faithful to His promise found in Romans 8:28, “And we know that all things work together for good to those who love God, to those who are the called according to His purpose.”
